Every business has a beginning. Ours started with one man, a deep respect for machinery, and a belief that doing the right thing by customers would always matter.

Founded in 1995, Lincom Group has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted suppliers of material processing equipment and services. What began as a family business has evolved into a national operation supporting customers across Australia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.

As industries have evolved, so have we. What hasn’t changed is our approach. We listen first. The legacy of Roy Watterson

Born in Ireland and drawn early to machinery and business, Roy built a career that took him across continents before he established Lincom Group in Australia. From the beginning, his intent was clear: build a business grounded in integrity, technical understanding and long-term relationships — not short-term wins.

Under Roy’s leadership, Lincom Group grew steadily, expanding into new markets and introducing world-class equipment to Australia. He built a reputation for reliability, trust and practical thinking, earning the respect of customers and industry partners alike. No matter how much the business grew, Roy remained hands-on, approachable and deeply connected to both customers and his team.

The foundations Roy laid continue to shape Lincom Group today. His standards, values and way of doing business remain central to how the company operates, carried forward under the leadership of his son, Managing Director Stephen Watterson.
