With the passing of Robert (Roy) Watterson, Lincom has lost its founder and visionary leader.
Roy leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his passion, energy and sense of irreverence will never be forgotten.
In his work life, Roy was known as a strategic thinker and a great communicator/talker. He enjoyed the dynamics of working at Lincom with his three children – Stephen, Lindsey & Robert Watterson – his sister Sandie and his sister-in-law Vivian.
In his private life, he cherished his partner Jan, loved working on their farm and enjoyed spending time with his large extended family. Our hearts go out to them.
We are grateful to the many people who have shared their messages of support, memories, and condolences. We know many of you will mourn with us.
The funeral service to celebrate Roy’s extraordinary life will be held at the Albany Creek Cemetery, Lakeview Room, on Wednesday 19th January 2022 at 11am.
The ceremony will also be live streamed for those that cannot attend in person. In the best Irish tradition, a wake will be held at the Kedron Wavell services club afterwards.
Instead of sending any floral tributes, the family has asked that a donation be made to the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard QF3 Redcliffe.
Some COVID-19 restrictions are still in place, please check closer to the date for any last-minute changes (e.g., masks are necessary and currently the chapel has a capacity limit of 175 persons).
