Three’s a Charm for R&E Crushing & Plant Hire

There’s a certain buzz when new machinery arrives on site, the low rumble of engines unloading, the smell of fresh steel and hydraulics, and the quiet nod between operators who know what these machines will mean for the months ahead. That was the scene as R&E Crushing & Plant Hire welcomed a new Powerscreen Chieftain 1700X screen to its fleet. Already operating a Premiertrak 330 and a Trakpactor 320, the addition brings even greater reliability and performance – qualities that will directly shape projects across Central Queensland and as far as the Sunshine Coast.

For Robert and Emma Hill, owners of R&E Crushing & Plant Hire, this delivery is another step forward in a business built on dependability. They have earned a strong reputation across Emerald and its surrounds for providing crushing, screening, and plant hire services that construction and infrastructure projects can count on. Whether it’s supplying material for council roadworks or supporting major developments, they’ve made it their mission to process materials to exacting standards and deliver on time, every time.

Each Powerscreen machine has been chosen for its specific strengths. The Premiertrak 330 provides the muscle up front, handling raw feed with an output of up to 280 tonnes per hour, all while keeping fuel use low thanks to its efficient drive system. The Trakpactor 320 steps in as the finisher, reducing and shaping material with precision at up to 320 tonnes per hour. And the Chieftain 1700X, a high-capacity screen with a four-bearing box, ties the process together, delivering throughput of up to 500 tonnes per hour while being simple to set up and maintain.

When these machines work together, the result is a streamlined production train: the jaw crusher feeds into the screen, oversized material is conveyed into the impact crusher, and the final product emerges, ready for use as road base in a Sunshine Coast council quarry. It’s a rhythm of efficiency where every stage matters, and every machine pulls its weight.

But if you ask the Hills what matters most, they’re quick to highlight the service and support they receive from us. Special mention goes to our Field Service Engineer Matt Atkin, whose steady hand and “get it done” approach have made him an essential part of keeping their operations running smoothly.

We believe the true measure of success isn’t just in the first load a machine produces, but in the hundreds of loads that follow, week after week, year after year. That’s why our after-sales support is just as important as the initial delivery. With parts always on hand, service teams ready to step in, and training available to make sure operators know their machines inside and out, we stand by our customers long after the machines roll off the truck.
