Redefining What’s Possible: One Year with Komptech

When we began our exclusive partnership with Komptech in January 2025, we stepped into a new era—not just for our business, but for customers across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands. Looking back now, the story of our first year together is one of transformation: new technology, new capability, and new confidence for operators navigating the pressures of modern waste and organics processing.

And like all good stories, it began with timing.

At the time, we knew the industry was on the brink of change. Organic waste volumes were increasing, FOGO was expanding nationwide, and operators were facing mounting pressure to improve efficiency, reduce contamination, and meet new sustainability expectations.

We knew our customers needed more than machinery. They needed systems that could handle wet, sticky organics; solutions that remove plastic contamination; equipment that lowers emissions; and a partner who can support them locally, wherever they operate.

That’s why our partnership with Komptech felt like the right move at exactly the right time.

Our origins and Komptech’s aren’t so different. Both of our companies bring more than 30 years of experience to the table: Lincom Group, with its regional roots and hands-on support network, and Komptech, with its global leadership in waste-processing technology.

What stands out most from the first year is the impact on customers. Operations that once struggled with wet material now have machinery built to handle it. Sites burdened by plastic contamination have seen improvements that directly support compliance. Those looking to reduce emissions can access electric and hybrid machinery that operate with less fuel and less noise. And across the board, customers tell us they feel more confident in their ability to meet production targets, quality standards, and sustainability goals.

The true test, of course, is always out in the field.

In Swanbank, Queensland, we trialled the Komptech Hurrikan S at a major composting operation. Light plastics are one of the biggest obstacles for operators working with mixed organics, especially under the state’s strengthened ERA 53 regulations. During the three-day trial, the Hurrikan S delivered outstanding results. It removed more than ninety percent of light plastics, processed hundreds of cubic metres of material each day, and demonstrated exceptional efficiency, even when running on a small amount of fuel or switching to mains power for zero onsite emissions. The skip bin full of captured plastics at the end of the trial said more than any brochure ever could.

In Victoria, the team at Valoriza shared a different challenge—one familiar to processors across the country. Their Dandenong South facility handles over one hundred thousand tonnes of kerbside FOGO each year, but high-moisture organics have consistently pushed traditional screening equipment to its limits. We helped Valoriza transition to the Komptech Multistar L3, paired with the electric Crambo shredder already onsite. The improvement in throughput and separation efficiency was immediate. What made the biggest impact, though, was consistency. The facility suddenly had equipment that thrived in the conditions that had previously limited production. With remote monitoring via Komptech Connect and regular support from our Victorian branch, the upgrade marked a shift in how the site could operate.

A year on, the collaboration has become much more than a supply agreement. Together, we’re helping operators move beyond simply processing waste. We’re giving them the tools, confidence, and support to turn organic material into a valuable resource—one that plays a meaningful role in Australia’s circular economy.

The next chapter begins with the arrival of the next-generation Komptech Multistar L3C star screen in Australia. With its tracked chassis and evolved Multistar design, the L3C brings greater mobility, stronger performance, and the flexibility to work across a broad mix of organic and waste applications.

While the achievements of the past year speak for themselves, they’re only the beginning. With new technology on the horizon and shared ambition driving what comes next, the chapters still to come promise even more.
