Every year, the Lincom Group Annual Awards give us a moment to slow down and appreciate the people who shape our business in ways big and small. In a fast-paced environment where machines are loud, deadlines are sharp, and no two days look the same, it’s easy to forget how much of our success comes down to the character and commitment of the people behind the scenes.
These awards exist for one simple reason: to recognise the individuals who lift those around them, live our values, and make work better just by showing up as themselves. And what makes them especially meaningful is that every winner is chosen by our people. The voting process ensures the awards genuinely represent our collective voice. Every nomination, every comment, and every story shared comes straight from the day-to-day experiences of our workforce.
This year’s winners remind us how diverse strengths can come together to build something bigger—teamwork, responsibility, leadership, humour, and a whole lot of heart. Let’s take a moment to celebrate their achievements.
Team Player Award – Travis Morris, Senior Parts Co-ordinator (WA)
If you’ve ever worked with Travis, you’ll know why his name rose quickly to the top. He’s the kind of teammate who never hesitates, never shrugs, and never says, “Not my job.” Instead, he steps in—whether it’s helping a customer, supporting someone in another branch, or backing up a workmate who simply needs a hand.
Travis’s impact runs deeper than day-to-day tasks. His attitude lifts those around him and sets the tone for a branch built on trust and support. He’s reliable, considerate, and consistently willing to go beyond what’s required—qualities that make him a standout and a well-deserved winner of this year’s Team Player Award.
Superstar Award – Josh Wynn, Boilmaker (QLD)
Josh’s reputation speaks for itself. He is known for turning up early, taking initiative, and tackling each job—big or small—with focus and pride.
Josh’s consistency is extraordinary. You’ll rarely see him standing still, and you’ll never see him back away from a request. His work ethic and attitude bring out the best in those around him, and his drive to help wherever he can, makes him a true superstar in every sense.
Roy Watterson Award – John Edwards, COO (QLD)
John is the kind of leader who makes everything feel a little more grounded. In a role where the pace never slows and the decisions never stop, he brings a calm confidence that sets the tone for the whole business.
John doesn’t lead from a distance. He listens, he checks in, he asks the right questions, and he supports people in a way that feels steady and genuine. And then there’s his signature move — that classic “John thing” where you look around in mild panic and suddenly everything is somehow… fine. Sorted. Under control. Just John working his quiet magic in the background.
Safety Star Award – Condon Quinn, Safety & Compliance Manager (QLD)
Safety can be a tough gig—often thankless, always important—yet Condon approaches it with passion and persistence. His dedication is well recognised, and he has earned a reputation for keeping us on our toes, on track, and operating in a way that protects people first.
His work shapes habits, boosts awareness, and helps ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day. That’s the kind of impact that lasts.
Toolbox Award – Zak Bezuidenhout, Mechanical Engineering Technician (NSW)
Zak is our “give it to me, I’ll sort it” guy. Mechanical issue? Electrical problem? Something weird no one can explain? Zak dives in with a grin and somehow figures it out.
He brings great energy into the workshop—curious, clever, and always keen to learn something new. He’s growing fast and making a real name for himself, and the team knows they can count on him for just about anything. If it’s broken, Zak’s probably already fixing it!
Silly Goose Award – Luke Kemp, Field Service (VIC)
Every workplace needs moments that make people laugh—stories that get retold long after the mess is cleaned up. This year, Luke delivered one of those unforgettable moments.
A simple task took an unexpected turn, and Luke found himself at the centre of a situation that quickly became legendary. It was harmless, surprising, and absolutely unforgettable for everyone involved.
While the award comes with a smile, it also highlights something bigger: that we can take our work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Luke’s ability to laugh, recover, and keep going is exactly the kind of spirit that binds a team together.
As we wrap up this year’s awards, let’s carry that spirit into the months ahead. Keep recognising great work, keep speaking up when someone makes a difference, and keep celebrating the small wins as much as the big ones.
