Lincom Group named finalist in two Australian Bulk Handling Awards

From helping a sand producer in Western Australia lift throughput by 73% to delivering a mobile ship-loading solution in Tasmania, no two projects look quite the same.

What connects them is the thinking behind each one, understanding the challenge, finding the right solution and supporting the equipment long after it arrives on site.

That approach has now earned us finalist recognition in two categories at the 2026 Australian Bulk Handling Awards: Supplier of the Year and Excellence in Conveying.

As a wholly Australian-owned family business that has spent more than 30 years helping keep material moving, the double nomination is an exciting acknowledgement of both the breadth of our capabilities and the work happening behind the scenes across our business.

More than supplying equipment

Being shortlisted for Supplier of the Year recognises something that has always been central to the way we work: the equipment itself is only one part of the solution.

Every operation brings a different set of materials, conditions and production goals. Supplying a machine without understanding those variables can mean leaving valuable performance on the table.

Our work with Carramar Resources in Western Australia is a strong example.

The company needed a more efficient way to produce clean building sand, with unwanted stone and organic contamination affecting product quality and limiting throughput. After working closely with the team to understand the operation, we recommended and supplied a Powerscreen Chieftain 1700X.

The inclined screen was configured with a 40 mm top deck and a 6 mm piano-wire bottom deck. However, it was an additional adjustment that made the greatest difference.

By configuring the screenbox to operate in reverse, the fine material had more time to pass through the deck. The seemingly simple change significantly improved separation efficiency, eliminated contamination carryover and increased average throughput to 484 tonnes per hour.

It is the kind of result that comes from looking beyond standard machine settings and asking a more useful question: how can we make this equipment work harder for this particular operation?

Our support continues throughout the equipment lifecycle, with commissioning, operator training, preventative maintenance, responsive field service, remote diagnostics, rebuilds and access to an extensive national spare parts inventory.

A new approach to ship loading

Our Excellence in Conveying nomination takes the story to Bell Bay in Tasmania, where a highly specialised ThorStacker™ T170x54 is supporting East Arm Resources and Australia’s emerging offshore wind supply chain.

The project presented a demanding combination of requirements.

The system needed to operate within a space-constrained port, handle armour rock measuring up to 375 mm and load material directly from ground level. It also needed to avoid the permanent ramps, extensive civil works and fixed infrastructure commonly associated with traditional ship-loading operations.

The answer was a custom-built, fully mobile ship-loading system designed to move with the demands of the port.

Paired with a specially designed low-level vibratory pan feeder, the track-mounted ThorStacker™ can be loaded at ground level without additional site preparation. Its self-propelled design allows it to be repositioned as vessel locations, tidal conditions and berth requirements change.

Full remote operation allows the equipment to be controlled safely from ground level or directly from the vessel. Integrated spill boards and material-containment feature also help minimise product loss and reduce environmental impact during loading.

Capable of loading up to 3,000 tonnes per hour and extending to a reach of 58 metres, the Bell Bay system combines capacity, mobility and structural strength in one independent platform. It is the most advanced and strongest ship-loading solution Thor Global has produced to date.

Recognition shared across our business

While the two nominations highlight very different projects, both reflect the same way of working.

One began with contaminated building sand and the need for greater throughput. The other required armour rock to be loaded onto vessels in a challenging port environment. In each case, the solution came from listening carefully, questioning conventional approaches and adapting the equipment around the operation. It reflects the customers who trust us with complex challenges and give us the opportunity to keep finding better ways to solve them.

Now, we wait for the final result. Whatever happens on awards night, being recognised in two categories is already an achievement our entire team is proud of.
